Boog City covers Acetate Diary and the Digital Dilemma program at Tribeca 2014
Boog City, New York’s East Village newspaper, has a great piece out today discussing the Digital Dilemma program — and Artless’s own Acetate Diary — showing at Tribeca Film Festival this week. Author and filmmaker Joel Schlemowitz discusses the program in terms of the recent (and, at times, uneasy) shift away from film toward video, and celebrates the filmmakers’ explorations of the creative possibilities and limitations of both mediums. “Perhaps,” he says, “the most interesting dilemma is the degree to which the dilemma is not a tidy contrast between the digital and the analog, for many of the works utilize the creative possibilities of the digital as the means to celebrate the organic beauty of the analog.”
